Helmet Communications

Anyone able to provide some advice or feedback on rider to pillion wireless communications.

We have been using the blueant wireless bluetooth system which is Ok but not perfect and have just broken one of the helmet fittings. Time for a newie??

Problems with the blueant have been - wind noise - not good clarity - paltry helmet fittings - difficult initial contact - only one connection at a time ie pillion or phone or second rider or music - but not any two at once. - spares

Benefits - good usage time - small - reasonably easy to fit. - at least you had some contact

I know, I know - real bikers don't need comms but it helps to keep awake (plus keep the pillion bitch happy - there'll all happy if they have an audience)

Whose got what - and are you happy?

At my age every FART is treated with suspicion

used the Blue Ant system too and agree with your comments.... I used it when my daughter was learning to ride and it was great for that purpose... but found similar problems to you. Had to turn the boost up if going over 80km/h and then battery only lasted 5 hours.

Lei now had a Nolan helmet so I may go N Com

I just installed the Scala G4 headset. Instantly connected to my iphone via bluetooth with no problems . Hopefully will get to test on the bike this weekend but so far it seems great.

The things that stop me getting one of these:

    1. Don't want my mates hearing me squeal like a baby when I go into a bend too hot

    2. Don't want them hearing me "talk" to car drivers

    3. Don't want them hearing my too frequent use of the F word in numerous riding situations

    4. Don't want them hearing me say hubba hubba everytime a cute gal goes by

Otherwise I reckon they would be handy. Distracting though?

Thanks folks - looks like scala may get a run

Sometimes a loadspeaker would be nice to be able to give the rest of the 'road abusers' a blast - maybe thats the next gadget
