Hi Guys - I think this one is for SCOTTY

Does anyone know the real difference between the

Screamin eagle race Tuner Pro  part no. 32109-08B  $358.74   USD    or bought locally  $700 AUD

    and

Screamin Eagle Street race Tuner   part no. 41000008  $257.34 USD     or bought locally  $500 AUD

What I understand the pro has endless combinations / Maps

where as the "street" version is more tame suitable with Screamin eagle slip ons & air filter

    they look identical.

    much appreciated for any input

What ive just been experiencing with these tuners has been a bit of a drama to say the least. Harley machanic that does work on my CVO, and my previous bike btw, tried to order for me the sepst from his american dealership that he deals with for parts, after i fitted V&H sideshots to my new CVO.They told him Harley were no longer selling the sepst, and the street tuner was now the only tuner available. So they sent the street tuner, hmm, tried to install, download etc, guess what? wouldnt work! He got on to them, then they said, ah but you need the new cables, will work ok then. So new cables purchased and arrived, guess what #2 ? didnt fukn work!

My mate mechanic got on tha phone to them again, blew up big time at them, told them after years of buying thousands of dollars worth of parts off them, he gets treated like some dimwitted arsehole from their parts department and his business dealing with them is now cancelled, and hung up on them.

He knew a fella from the factory in Milwauke, that he used to work alongside overthere, and got in contact with him. His mate stated the sepst is still available, and the street tuner is a piece of crap, and everyone thats bought one has had major dramas trying to install it. Told my mechanic to leave it with him, and he would sort out the drama with dealership that sold it to us. True to his word, he rang my mechanic next day, said to send back the street tuner to the dealership, and they would send the race tuner out and waive the extra dollars that was needed for sepst. The sepst is nearly 200 dollars dearer than street tuner.

A lot of fukkn around, the sepst should arrive here early next week, but in my opinion people, give this street tuner a wide berth! not worth saving a few bucks to get landed with a lemon, and who knows what your bike will perform like, if you can get tha fukn thing to install!!

Hope this helps, and saves someone from getting stitched up.

    Scozzy.

The Street Tuner is ONLY for installing SMOG LEGAL calibrations here in the USA, you cannot change or tune the bike with it. It requires a special Street Tuner Software to make it work along with a key that plugs into the dealership computer! The only ones over here allowed to have that Software and Key is a dealership. The SESPT is the NOT street legal unit that allows for tuning of the bike.

The Pro tuner has been the one I have used and anyone with the software can update software and programs from SE for free via the internet at any time. Always remember that this is only an access device to be able to properly tune your engine to suit whatever mods, fuels and environment you ride in. SE software shares many traits with HP tuners (used for cars), just like our 4 wheel counterparts the base tunes in the libraries are from the USA and assume low octane poor quality fuels. mostly 90 or less octane. Just like all of the other pre determined tuners from the US they simply do not suit Australia and should only be used as a means to getting your tune started, or keeping your engine safe after you have modded it.
A complete tune should not only involve power tuning and base tune on a dyno, but also data recording and fine tuning on the street to properly replocate its running environment. I have yet to see a bike with a base tune that we have not been able to atleast improve its efficiencies by atleast 20%.
As for purchasing a unit, just rock up to your local dealer and buy one, that way you are covered if you have any compatibility issues. You will pay a little extra but it is for a service not for nothing.
    Regards- Anthony
