Ive been stranded at home for 2 days with no power or tap water ( luckily rain water is plentiful ) no tv, radio or phone. mobiles went flat on first day, had no idea what was going on outside my fence, got power back tis arvo and got the shock of my life when i turned the telly on, horrific is an understatement, certainly brought a tear to my eye. Sad.

Unbelievable footage coming thru over in the West. We've had our dryest pretty much on record.

East states their wettest. Some arseholes have lit fires over here that have taken out homes and properties south of Perth. Is there a God, not for mine!

Hey Davo, I have a question you may be able to help with... are you aware of any roads open to get me from the top of Mt Tamborine to the M1? Or has anyone got a web link which shows which roads are open?

I'm trying hard to get to work in North Brisbane.

Yes very sad news state wide, although here in Maryborough our flood danger is not as bad we now have other problems arising, due to the Bruce Highway being cut at Gympie supply trucks haven't been able to get through for almost a week now, the wide bay region is running out of food, supermarkets are almost bare, no milk, bread, fresh veg, meat, canned goods etc fuel supplies are running low with some servo's out already.

There is some hope apparently Gladstone is getting fuel supplies as the Bruce Highway is still open from Gympie to Rockhampton no access into Rocky yet though.

If this situation isn't bad enough, WHAT THE HELL IS IT WITH JOURNO'S?????????????
Just watched a live press conference with Premier Bligh, who by the way, IMO is handling this tragedy better than any one else could & some of the questions thrown at her by the journo's were absolutely fuckin ridiculous.
Do they have a little side competition going for who can ask the most stupid question?????????

This is far from over, even when the water recedes the rebuilding work will take years in some areas.

That's their job Rick, to ask stupid fuckin questions, they also sound dejected that the floods didn't peak as high as 1974.

Apparently the great man was out rubbernecking and saw some people bucketing water out of a house and he stopped and gave them a hand all day. Another bloke's been cruising around in his canoe handing out coldies to all the people cleaning out their houses, god bless him.

    From their bookface page

Great News, we are back Open and Trading. To celebrate our survival of the flood we are having a 25% OFF all Triumph Clothing and Accessory Sale *On Stock In Store Only* ends 31st January. And a big 'Thank You' to all the people who helped.

    That was on the 07/01
