    The water is definatly a lot higher in those pics, than what it was 2 years ago when i went out there for the floods for work, we have some people out there as well as other parts of the state helping out where they can.

    And they say the Qld floods cover an area the size of France & Germany combined. That should give non Aussies a fair perspective!

    Yep, getting a fair bit of coverage in the USA as the area is bigger than Texas.

    News link

    AT least four people are confirmed dead, including two children, and up to 50 are missing after a massive wall of water carved a trail of devastation through Toowoomba and into the Lockyer Valley yesterday.

    Can't believe what I'm seeing on the news, amazing isn't the right word to describe it, maybe devastating is.

    Just read Bellingen has been cut in two by floods as well, can you confirm Flan?

    A sad & scary tale there Ms. Daisy; and a frighteningly close call for your loved ones.

    The speed and impact of the Toowoomba flood has amazed everyone who knows the place - that news footage reminds me of the Tsunami coverage from a coupla years ago; people looking in amazement at what is happening around them - almost surreal!

    But anyone who's been to Toowoomba will be stunned by events there. How does it flood on top of a hill ?!

    I'm in the Gold Coast hinterland and just one of many flooded in at present. Just sitting at home following the updates on the telly (between power cuts); to date I understand eight have died and more than 50 are missing around Toowoomba.

    These State wide floods are the biggest disaster event Qld has seen in years and unfortunately it's not looking like slowing anytime soon.

    That is a sad & scarey tale alright Madonna.
    Michelle's parents live at Westbrook, away from the main mayhem but still had their house flooded & septic backed up into the house etc;

    This whole deal makes me feel so bloody frustrated that i can't do more to help.

    One offer i can make is a safe garage on high ground if anyone in the low lying Brisbane areas is worried about their bike.
    I can squeeze 3 or 4 into the garage at a pinch. Serious offer by the way.
