    G'day silver fox.

I was thinking of doing same.

Probably bobber style frame, maybe an S&S or Ultima  Motor. I will have it painted/powdercoated &  built here by various trades/friends. Buy other parts online/ebay/ MCAS Sydney etc.

It would be kinda project bike

Was also wondering what  the go is with getting it complied/rego etc.

Interested in thoughts from others in the know or who have done this. Also, I know it greatly depends on quallity of finishes but would it be a cheaper way of getting a custom ride ?

    Cheers

Sorry to say Bandit but if your planning on farming out all the work and buying parts from all over the place this thing is going to cost a fortune, buy something done and on the road and then nxt year or the year after start changing it to suit your style, if you have rely on others to do the work its going to be a very expensive excercise, start simple and basic and learn from there. Anyone who has thought they have discovered a cheap way to own a custom car, bike or  boat  has usually spent a fortune and is too embarrassed to tell you the true cost, a nice custom is a series of parts which fit together well and flow along with a nice paint job and the right mix of alloy or chrome, a custom cobbled together with no foresight and a pile of ebay parts will always look wrong,

If your still intent on going down the build it your self go out to VPW and talk to Walka, he has all the stuff to do it and as he`s done it himself he can offer real advice, and buying a complete kit from someone you will probably get a decent discount and the free advice that comes with it will save you a few dollars as well.
