hi all just thinking of getting a set of v/h big radius 2-2 pipes for my fatboylo but do i have to change the engines managment system because this makes it even more expensive cheers
What phantom said is correct,BUT if you have a stock 88 like me a/c ,pipes, slipons you will get away without buying a tuner, just fitted a set of 203 cams and it works fine without a tuner pulls and makes a big differance but if i was to go to1550 and heads sure i would look at one, myself a thundermax but that is my choice played with these motors a lot and from what i am reading a lot of readers buy tuners that are not needed yet. V&H good pipes D&D are the ones.
Gilly I bought my Fatboy used with a set of Big Radius on it and they were running so rough they were blowing flames. You'd see sparks coming up beside you riding around town. I put the original SE2 pipes back on and it was a zillion times better. Runs like a charm now although it has a Heavy Breather and no tuner. Love the look of the V&H though and poser that I am I wish now I hadn't sold them. There is a suggestion though that the new Big Radius have more back pressure (and are quieter, not that that's a plus) so they might be a bit better now without the tuner but I won't be putting another set on until I can afford the whole works, just in case. I think the rule anyway is: V&H pipes = tuner, like it or not.
