Can anyone tell me if a muffler off a jap 1300 bike would work on my EVO 2into1 system? It is roughly the same displacement. I have heard that the jap bikes use a straight through muffler arrangement with very little back pressure, something which Harleys need a bit of to work efficiently, and would like to hear from anyone with mechanical knowledge in this area and what they might have to say first, as it is a lot of stuffing around getting the muffler off my bike just to try it and find it is crap. It is an aftermarket muffler and looks quite nice, doesnt look jap and it has the same size inlet pipe as my supertrapp system does so fitment is not an issue, just whether it will work. Thanks..

Is the pipe from a Jap twin or a 4 cyl' ?

If it's aftermarket, they usually have a straight theough 2" perforated baffle, so it should work fine, and be very mellow.
