so sick of the location of the standard ignition switch on the frame neck so bought a switch off USA flea bay for $30 delivered and very happy with the new location.

Its where it always should have been.

I'll post some pics tomorrow if anyone is interested but its a rather common mod

    pics....

    standard

    drilled console with 2" holesaw

Made up mounting plate for new switch

Switch Mounted, this was just a mock up, screws/nuts have lock nuts and blue loctite

Finished job - made the switch surround trim from some black wire insulation and glued it in place underneath the console

i got used to it today after a few pub stops and fuel stops..... pain in the arse mod to do but well worth it already, so much easier not worring about the key ALL the time...

if the original neck ignition was better designed it wouldn't be so bad... something like the following ....

    1. fork lock position (with key out)
    2. off position (with key out)
    3. off position (where key stays in)
    4. ignition position
    5. accessories position

Looks good Daggs, I was going this route with my switch relocation, went as far as buying the rubber grommet to fit the hole (actually bought a few jic),  in the end with the dollar being so good and Zanotti's great prices went with the SE console, also saw Vladt's which swayed me,both ways look good imo, I like the chrome but also like the black original.  By the way, nice looking bob mate.

If anyone doing this mod would like one of the rubber grommets to try just let me know and I will post you one free of charge.

    Here's mine.

Yes that does look good but I'm not after much chrome on my bike, plus ridden a few with chrome consoles and they can be a bit bright on the eyes in the sun.
Plus the cost, mine only cost me $30 lol !!

the chrome looks shit hot on your bike shfunky, but the black console is better suited to the denim colours.... had considered the SE console for mine but it would look crap with Pewter Denim...

don't have a profile pic ofmine but here is a side view....

I didn't ket the lock keyed to the original key, but will be replacing the lock in the stearing head (stuffed) and will get that keyed the same as the tank swtich

Yeah Ho, I agree, and I didn't get mine keyed alike either as I've never used the fork lock anyway

    Train,

The indicators are just something, I again, bought off ebay. These were unbranded but I think Zodiac have them, I'll try to find a link...

They were chrome but I rubbed them back and hit them with some satin black epoxy at the same time that I did my fork sliders and levers and fitted the FatBob Black triple trees to get the wider front end.

Looking at Ho's picture, he has the same (or similar) ones but still in the chrome.

They are good as they are quite low profile and can bolt up easily to the existing indicator mounts :) heres a pic  not the best but you'll get the idea

I picked the indicators up from Adelaide Bike Works... still need to get them powdercoated black and will do that when I get the fork brace and other bits powdercoated that missed the last round of changes.

Will also powdercoat the trim on the rear fender support as well as the rims....
