    are all evo 1340 heads the same ? will thay all year 1340 evo motors heads and boars fit each other?

    The Clymer 1984-1999 EVO service manual does not mention any differences in the actual heads, however the head bolt torque spec is different between the 1984 FXST and 1985-on heads. PLease check with a tech that knows EVOs inside and out, as Clymer manuals have been known to be in error.

    Based on your input I re-checked the Clymers Manual I have and have found the following info related to head studs. Not trying to pick you up, just stating from the manual:

    1984-early 1985 used female at the top male stud bottom.

    1985-1987 used male both ends no collar (flange) at head end.

    1988 - on used male both ends WITH a collar (flange) at the top.

    No reference to head breather in this 1984-99 manual that I can find, plenty of info on crankcase breathers. No impact to the actual heads either way.
