Anyone gone through the process and purchased a Harley from the USA and if so is it worth it..
Hi Panhead ,I imported my 09 dyna lowrider from the usa. I was told that you cant import a new bike in, and the bike has to be previously registred in the usa. My harley had only 28 miles on the clock and purchased for about $16.000 au. I had the dealership add around $3000 au of accessories to the bike before shipping. Total costs from usa dealership in Seattle to La -La shipping to Brisbane - Brisbane to Perth , inc tax and oz compliance to bike was $25.000. Theres good and bad by doing this.Bad-lots of emails,fax and phone calls,takes around 6 months door to door,no warranty with bike.Good -thousands of harleys to choose from,save yourself around $6000au, 100% pleased with my bike & loads better than what ive seen at Frasers.Hope this helps.

Hi Bangkok Bob . Had compliance done in Brisbane but had to do licence / registration and a wa inpection here in mandurah,rafferty road i think.
Thanks for the reply gaz.b not sure what to do now especially with some models might be coming from India aparently.
