Question for someone with a FXD (not FXDX)

Alright, got some Burly Brand shocks (rebranded Progressive's I think or come out of the same factory) and went to fit them last night and no go. They were sold to suit 1991-2010 FXD's however mine is an FXDX which I think has a different shock set-up to that of the Super Glide standard.

Just curious if anyone with a FXD can confirm if their shock mount set-up is the same as this one.

In order - OEM shocks, Bruly Brand, Ultima shocks. You can see the difference in thickness where the bolt goes through.

The mounting point. Cannot move this in or out to gain additional bolt length.

And pic the with Burly shock on the mount.

Problem solved. Went down to Morgan and Wacker and the helpful gentleman there had a set of the newer ones which are longer. So unless your shocks look like the OEM ones and you plan on going Progressive you will need longer stud frame mounts, item no. 10 in the picture above and the 2008-up one's work a treat.

I like talking to myself so I'll keep going.

Not that I expect too many people to have this issue but the built in spacer on the 2008-up shock mount studs push the shock too far out at the bottom so I had them machined today and now they work a treat.

    I have read your post.

    You are not alone.

Well with the problem you may be alone, but your post has not gone unnoticed.
