My son's 03 twincam has way 2 much end play in the crank, needs a new crank etc, I can get a s+s 106 stroker kit with pistons and 45 mikuni for about 2 grand from the states,I got a quote for the labour and was told about $2800!!  Seems a bit steep.

It already has a 95 big bore kit in it so no need for a rebore.Can anyone tell me if $2800 is a fair price for the labour??

He reckons about 30 hours,I thought about 20 would be about it

Just had my 01 twin cam rebuilt recently for the same reason.

While it's apart I recommend you go the Timken bearing upgrade in the cases,New oil pump (heart of the engine),gear drive cams with upgraded support plate & have the new crankshaft trued,balanced & welded.

I think the 45mm mikuni will be too big as I've been led to believe they work best on motors 120 & over.

I run a 42mm on 116 S&S with no probs.

Guess he'll have to see if there's a cheaper way to do it instaed of the stroker.Does anyone know of somne who does bottom end rebuilds at a reasonable price?
