What a terrible couple of weeks it's been here in the west.....
A rider on his brand spanking new Harley (2nd day out) died when he hit a tree last week and yesterday a chap died straight after taking delivery of his Harley, head-on into a car...
There is something terribly wrong when accidents happen so close after taking delivery of a new bike, we may get a more clear picture later....
The only thing I want to say to new Harley owners, who have come from sports bikes, is that Harley arn't sports bikes...They are heavy, don't handle real well in stock condition, and some models have brakes that are not exactly top class...You have to learn to ride them all over again, take it easy and ride to the conditions that prevail....
RIP to the riders and condolenses to thier famillies....
For fuck sake stay safe guys and gals and look after the newbies....
Bt
+2 good advice
RIP to those guys. Im probably one of the ones your refering to in all honesty. Ive been riding for around 20 years, but as you say, they arent a sports bike, even though my previous bikes werent in the sport category, my WDG is taking me some time to "relearn" how to ride, might sound a bit silly but its taking me some getting used to, mainly at walking pace, and those right hand bends.
RIP x 2
Ride safe guys and gals
Very true Bobtail. Harleys are different to ride compare to a Super Sports
RIP, condolences to the family.

RIP brothers.
R.I.P X2 TAKE CARE OUT THERE +1 TO BOBTAIL
i agree, i was at a harley dealership promo day meet an older guy who was getting back into riding after 15 or so years he was there to pick up a ultra classic he rode to the set of lights, put his foot down and you could see his leg wobbling trying to hold it up, when he took off , he had some near misses as he wobbled down the road.
some people should start out smaller and progress up when used to hd handling abilities
