What should I expect from a HD? I havent owned a cruiser before and will be purchasing a Super Glide Custom 2011.
They seemed to be well priced with the 1584cc and handle reasonable well (so I am told) and have good cornering clearence, these being the contributing factors for the Super Glide Custom.
Cannot believe they have plastic switch blocks tho,,, burrt!!!
Mate I'm on my 2nd HD, riding a Super Glide nowadays. I reckon the one thing you will notice most over other bikes is the extra weight, these bikes are solid (getting close to 290-300kg depending on model and how many extra shiny bits you add to it) ...take it easy when parking & low speed manouvres till you get used to it. They are well balanced outon the road though though and pretty comfy. Put a good seat on and its like riding around in a big armchair!
...and yeah...more plastic on them than you'd expect but I guess that's how it is in these modern times. Look after the bike and it will pay you back at trade in time like no other brand...They aren't a technological wonder, pretty old fashioned and simple - but that's why most of us like them!!
