Painting shocks

Anyone tried it? Bought some chrome shocks for me Dyna however the bike is blacked out (mostly) and am thinking of painting the shocks black. Powder coating I've been told would be no good as it could fuck the rubber seals.

Just wondering if anyone had some hints? Anything I should cover prior to sanding and painting, can it even be done? Sell them and buy black ones maybe?

    Any help appreciated.

Need to pull the springs and covers off and get a chrome plater to remove the chrome, then paint.

Better off putting them on evil bay and getting some black ones.

Thanks guys. Just bought some Burly Brand 10.5" black shocks but I will keep that preperation method handy as I want to do my front blinkers as well.

Pizzlin, the one's I have (which I'll be sellin soon) are Ultima shocks. Thanks for the thought anyways.

Yeah 11" progressive, you shouldn't have too much trouble selling them mate
