Rear Sprocket Change

All Gurus, looking for info about changing the rear sprocket on my '04 FXSTB. Being only a five speed I would like to drop the revs a bit while still keeping up with the newer 6 speeds who seem to like sitting on 140kmh out here . Any ideas on what size?

    Cheers

1:1 is straight to the rear ratio, i would expect if you have 6 gears they could run a much taller final ratio. so it comes down to what final drive ratio the 6 speed has. but if you go to tall you risk lugging your motor & that does more damage than reving it, the bottom end has a hard time. but you could rev a 95 as lower piston speed than a 96.

That is all I am after. A few less revs on the highway. I thought the 6 speed was and overdrive but it is in fact a direct drive in 6th gear. Seems the cheapest thing to do is drop the rear pulley (it is a pulley, not a sprocket!) by two or three teeth so as to keep the standard belt. I have plently of torque down low and don't drop the clutch of the line so it should be fine. Just need to find the right size.

    Thanks for your inputs.

Ok what ones aren't? From what I've been looking at all the late model ones are but I know nothing about HD bikes let alone drive train ratios. What will dropping 2-3 teeth on the rear pully drop revs by at say 110kph?

so ya reckon the 70 tooth will go on using the same belt?  my top and bottom gards are to suit the 70 size pulley ( they have a gap).

how many tooth belt you runnin?
