I wish HD would eventually fold to the "low mark up, high volume" sales.

Its a big shift, but the net will force every manufacturer to eventually...

Best thing about this way of sales (besides keeping us happy) is it creates mass jobs to keep up with newfound demand.

 

HD Australia couldn't ask the Milwaukee mafia for permission (and a bucket load of cash) to build a parts/ custom shop plant over here?

That would cut the shipping and import costs... 

Guessing they would be thinking - if it aint broke (although they nearly were).

Instead of charging top dollar to ship shit around the world, couldn't they just ask a huge licence to stamp parts OS?

Got myself into HH on Saturday and I got some deals. It would be good to see these prices everday.

Thought I would outline some observations on some luggage I was looking to purchase..... not going to say what the item was but just give pricing observations..

HD USA List Price.... $229.95

Zanotti US Price..... $180.00..... freight to Adelaide $89 = $269.00 

Price from HD Cannada List Price... $286.95 (not sure if this includes Tax)

Price from a dealer in Edmonton.... $301.99 + Tax (got this price as a mate from Edmonton is visiting Laos in a couple weeks)

HH Adelaide Special Price.... $281.17

Standard Dealer Price seen in Oz was around $360...........

[at this point the AUD; USD and CAD are all around parity]

As you can see we are not the only country being ripped off price wise..... whilst I would like the bags up here for when lei and I head to Oz, but in this instance I will likely buy from HH and get my daughter to pick up the item.
