So Ive have this bike for 2 fifths of fark all, but Id like to share my findings so far.
Pro's: (bear in mind my opinion is in comparison to bikes I've had over the last few years, Thruxton, Guzzi Sport etc)
Comfortable, to the point where I can ride for a while, where'd I'd previously need a break I can just keep going.
Engine characteristics, I love the torque, and it makes a lot more HP than I'd thought it would have.
Fuel economy, a bit too soon to tell accurately but am getting well over 200-250 a tank.
The look, dont need to say anything about that.
Con's:
When I stop riding for a piss break etc, I want to get back on and keep riding.
Lower back is feeling it a bit at speed, but I'll get used to it, or I'll just see a chiropractor.
Initial servicing costs, but after having rung around different bike shops for some info, Ive been told that most/all
dealers these days have stopped the "first service free" as they dealer used to pay for it, at a bare minimum, but
now they've stopped paying them altogether so now the buyer pays.
I ride with one of those helmets with a flip up chin piece, I know it doesnt fit in the with the stereo typical HD "look"
but I didnt buy this bike for some "hard carnt" persona, I bought it because its really the only HD that really "grabbed" me, and
its a huge step up from any other bike I've had.
I dont know how you lot can ride with open face helmets, I wear prescription glass's so standard wrap around sunny's dont do the job.
Eye's sting like a bitch above 80k's without the lid being shut.
One thing that did surprise me, mates at work who ride sports bikes etc, none of them had anything
negative to say about the Wide Glide.
Last two days has taken me a couple of hours to get home, usually a 20 minute ride, just cant stop wanting to ride it.
So, yeah, Im bloody stoked with the bike.
good choice of bike eyeball, got one myself,4 months ago love it to bits. only time i want to stop riding it is when i want to have a look at it.
Good on ya eyeball, enjoy your ride brother.
