Hey guys was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice when it comes to changing front ends? I want to put a Springer on my 06 Night Train but I want to change the brake setup to twin 155mm Bembo or equivalent, is this possible?? Also are the dampener style springers much better than the ones with just the three normal springs? I would also like to give it a longer rake, not too much though just a slightly sleeker look to set it apart from the others.. Any help would be great, cheers

I dont think The OEM HD springer frontend can handle that much stopping power..IMHO it would stress the front end too much and cause the front to flex inward which would give you no stopping power or worse disaster...i have thought about this myself..but after riding 1 for a few thousand kms...they are not designed for high speed manouvres or hard braking...aftermarket springer front ends are inferior in design except maybe an American Suspension D-69BBS Sabretooth dragon springer front end with STD length forks which looks like a solid bit of gear and have dual calipers as an option..$4Gs landed with dual caliper option while the dollar is good...and there would be change left for a party after the install...woohooo

There is nothing wrong with the cheaper Springers, You just have to be careful of what brand you buy as there not all the same.

Over the last year or so we have been working with one of the Asian Manufactures redesigning and inproving the good old cheap Springer. We changed the Internal Bushing, The Thickness of the Hoop Bar and Rockers, I also did some work with the Finish of the Welds and the Chrome. The End result is the Photos below,

On the Left is our Attitude Inc Springer The Right is a DNA

    DNA Rocker

    Thicker Attitude Inc Rocker

    DNA Hoop

Thicker and Stronger Attitude Inc Hoop

    DNA Finish

    Attitude's Cleaner Finish

Thanks for all your iput, I have decided on the American Suspension D-69BBS Sabretooth dragon springer front end, the style is gonna match the look of the bike I'm going for. Any suggestions on Brake callipers, ( actually the whole braking system) to use with this front end? Definately want twin discs and just comparing prices at the moment but don't know which brake parts to look for.

    Cheers

I got a MID USA springer frontend that i'm thinking of removing from my softail to put the wide glide back on. not as simple as you might think, the bars, risers, brakes, headlight, front tyre all have to be changed too. got DRAGWAY BILLET CHROMED RIMS with matching brake rotors and pulley. thinking of selling the lot if your interested.
