Yep, straight on. - Big thanks to my local stealership for allowing me to "borrow" the caplier from one of their stunt XR's thats copping some brembos.

No other parts changed, just straight swap from crap 2 pot to XR's Nissin 4 pots. - Even using old Genunie pads. - Difference is amazing. - Worth it? - Of course, it was free. - Would I pay for it? - Depends, I don't know what the calipers are worth.

wow.. thats great cause the iron brakes are...well...lacking. they do the job, but i bet those XR's pull the bike up quick smart.

The other common swap is for Brembos of a BT or V-Rod, but these require swapping to larger diameter rotors and to change the brake master cylinder to the 1/2" version as used on the XR.

Can I ask, how does lever travel feel? Is it mushy or longer at all? If the caliper of off a dual caliper model will it need the 1/2" master cylinder?

Lever travel is better than it was before. stock Irons master cyl is fine. Im only using the one side.

By saying 'level travel is than it was before' do you mean there is less, more, or the same lever travel?

    "BETTER than" = Less.

Can lock the front wheel with out too much effort.

Will not work with wire spoke wheels. Upgrade the pads to better aftermarket. Should be able to use dual disk on that 13 spoke wheel. Need other side slider with caliper mount.  These are the exact same caliper as a Honda Firebalde and pads will fit and are interchanagable.  YOu can not use a Fireblade caliper on a Harley because the external casting is very different.  Same internals but different packaging. You can buy adapters from me and put on 320 mm rotors.  THese are rebuildable whereas the HD Brembo are not, no parts.  Below are a pair of 320 mm rotors on my 13 spoke on my 2005 Dyna.  The calipers are not the same as we make them for the Brembo twin pin also.  These XR1200 as well as V-Rod/FLH Brembo calipers go for around the $185 mark here give or take a dollar.  These Nissin's are good calipers.   Remember XR1200 Nissin = no wire wheels!!!

The reason why I posted the traffic experience is to share my experience with others and maybe save someone some hardship.  I will make this statement:

No one needs good brakes until the end of the stop!

Please read my post more carefully as I said they will not fit onto a spoked (this is a wire wheel) wheel and they will fit onto a cast wheel.  If you have used these calipers on a Spoked Wire wheel please let me know or take a picture.

    This is my quote:

Will not work with wire spoke wheels. Upgrade the pads to better aftermarket. Should be able to use dual disk on that 13 spoke wheel. Need other side slider with caliper mount.  These are the exact same caliper as a Honda Firebalde and pads will fit and are interchangeable.  YOu can not use a Fireblade caliper on a Harley because the external casting is very different.  Same internals but different packaging.

Please tell me again how I am wrong as I wish to learn from others who have done it differently than I.
