I work in a job with what some would call confined spaces, but I cannot begin to imagine what they went through.

RIP to my mining brothers. It really drives it home how dangerous mining is. I for one would not work underground. Went 2km in an underground coal mine in Singleton in the 80's and made up my mind then and there. Not for me. Eacn to their own. Ex father in law spent 38 years underground.

Condolences to all familes, friends and communities affected.

     A very good post Steamer.

As a child I went down a coal mine at Captains Flat near Canberra. A deep vertical shaft dropping in a small frame lift that went down a long way before the full cut. Nightmare.

    RIP fellas.
