Any tips? compensator nut

    if its a evo yes you need to remove clutch basket,loctite recomended,clutch basket nut left hand thered,aircompressor,rattel gun make it easy,1/2 inch drive sockets,andmaybe 3/4 drive to undo comp nut sizes cant remenber ? circlip pliers for clutch pushrod adjuster plate ,you need to slide comp gear and clutch basket of togeather.

    just seen your other posts ,when you remove compnut inspect it as my evo one was streched and you could see it on the shaft of the nut it was about 4mm longer than the new one,but in saying that i have replaced whole comp assembely aswell and it is still noisy ,as said before noisy fuggers

    Hey bowsaw-- Ive had my componsating sprocket quite a few times on my fxr--have never had to take the clutch basket of----slacken off the tensoiner and you should be able to slide the compenater and primary chain off--it is tight ---softys might be different but i doubt it--cheers Grim

    Hey bowsaw,don't totaly disreguard it being ya chain.Now you've got the cover of have a look for signs of the chain slapping the inside of the cover (where the bolts go through).Mine developed a loud knock with less than 200 k's on the clock,it sorted itself out after another couple of hundred.Apparently it can take a while for the tensioner to jump up a notch.Cheer's WAZ!!
