     Hola,

Thought' i'd better say g'day rather than lurk too much longer.....

Hail from South West VIC and never owned a Harley before, however, i have loved them since i was a tacker, mates have always owned them but i prefered dirtbikes...I have since seen the light.

SWMBO also loves them, and was going to purchase one before she met me 15 yrs or so ago...so with her blessing I'm (we're) currently researching what model to buy so the info in these forum's has been very handy.

Our nearest Harley stealership is 4 hrs away so i'll prolly have a few (possibly lame) question's for you guy's. (also saves me looking like a tool at the shop <img src=" align="absMiddle" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif" /> )

Welcome Knawful hope you enjoy the forums. Now to talk about what bike to get.I have a 2010 dyna and that is fine i to have a bad back. The only thing i am not to happy with is the back shocks i find that they bottom out to easy with 2 up easy thing to change. The other bike i would recomend is a road king they are built for comfort. Also they have air shocks so you can adjust them to what comfort range you want.Take a few out for test rides and see what gives you yhe best comfort and then you will no what bike you like.Well thats enough from me hope i have helped you a bit and good luck on getyng your new Harley and ride safe.

Greetings, buy what you like, test ride them first, take the other half as it will be her arse that goes numb first, if she says it's good you can never get in the shit.

     Thank's for the welcome guy's.

wideglide96, Yep, your just around the corner..kinda...We're in Portland.

My wife is from the Mount, we go there quite often to visit the inlaws....Bro in law just picked up a denim black sporty he bought at the ride day there a few week's ago...So it's kinda his fault for the bug biting this hard.

Got some mates who ride that i havent seen for year's in the Mt. too, last i heard they'd joined the local chapter, that was a few year's ago.

Welcome to the forum...It may not be cool, but a touring type screen will take the "parachute" efffect away & make for a lot of pain free K's...works wonders. That, along with the right foot position, the right pegs with heel support, and the right bars, ie, hand position. (not to mention seat). Sounds a lot, but I've had a stuffed back most of my life & have found that if these things are right, you will enjoy many pain free k's. It may take a while to get the perfect combination...but persavere...its worth it.

Ride safe & enjoy your selection...what's a little pain if you ride a Harley.
