Taking the 06 88ci Dyna in for a dyno this Sat at Frasers, just wanted an idea on what we should set the AFR at, was thinking low 14's or high 13's ??? any other tweaks we should do, just hoping the dyno bloke knows what he is doin as I dont.
Bike doesnt ping, has the odd backfire, surges low speed.
Bike has Big Radius, SERT, 211's and air, no 02 sensors.
Thanks in advance to all the knowledgeables
what are they charging you? If its around $100 then it is just dyno run. If its $300 plus then it should be a full tune. Be interesting how they answer Scotty's questions because they knew stull all about the PCIII and i even had to supply the software. Hear they are now directing PCIII customers to RILUSI!!!!
MMMMMMMMM, will print this post off and keep it on hand, many thanks scotty, karl and uncle ho for the great tips.
Will ask a few pertinant questions today and if I dont get the right answers might can it and go for a ride down to SW Harley as I heard they are good ?if it gets to this who would I deal with down there.
Will post more info as it comes to hand.
Thanks
The cost to run the bike up on the dyno and reset tuning is $150.00 and was told to allow one hour, this includes adjusting AFR, RPM, VE tables plus any other adjustments that need to be carried out, they wernt sure about the step test.
They tell me the operator they are using is top knotch but without comparing I cant comment.
I guess I will run with that but will have all the info on hand now thanks to your replies.
Will let you know how it all goes.
Thanks for the info.
Just got a call from Frasers and the dyno guy is going to be off sick tomorrow so no dyno, been waiting for 3wks....................what a pain but rebooked.
Will post results 2wks time .
...and thats why I got a Thundermax with autotune.
Two or three pulls to get a few more ponies up top is great but I bet its not why you shelled out close to a grand incl dyno session?
cheers Surly
Put the bike on the dyno yesterday and it was running way too lean, The surging at around 50 to 60klms per hour has gone but still has a surge up to 40klms per hour under very light throttle in 1st or 2nd gear, I can live with this. HP has increased to 81.67 and TQ to 88.03, how do these figures compare with other 88ci's with 211's
Apparently the early 06 dynas had 8 degree injectors and the later ones had 25 degree ones fitted with a better spray pattern to try and stop the surging problem, on its first service with the mods fitted mine had been tuned for the 8 deg so I was told ????? the popping on decel has all but stopped and I have heaps more power from 3000 upwards.
Am I happy, well I spent $150 and the bike goes better with a few extra horses to boot, but if I do any more mods and need to get her dynoed again I would try a different place just to do a comparison.
