Has anybody out there got an opinion(silly question everyone probably has) on which is the best sounding pipes out there? A mate has short shots and I think that they sound tinney. I like the look of the Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered with the removable baffles, (you can buy quiet baffles with these as well which you can put in after you get done for too much noise, how quiet is quiet) do they sound any good or would someone recommend something else? I like 2 pipes and I dont want to get hassled by the big blue gang.

Gee that third one goes off doesn't it, the first one are Paul Yaffe's  "crack pipes" which IMO are the best sounding pipes out there, unfortunately they are only made for bloody softails,, he emailed me and said 'hey we can make any pipe fit any bike'....... but wouldn't want to take the chance buying them from the states and then not fitting properly. They cost about $750US, would have to move the rear master cylinder to the front as well,.

When I win the lottery and I can afford another bike it's going to be a  Night Train with Paul Yaffe 'crack pipes' just like the one in the video. Until then I will enjoy the fuck out of my gloss black 07 Streetbob with BSS's.

A mate of mine has Bub Jughuggers on his Fatboy and they look and sound real good, don't see many of them around either. (He also likes the 'Crack Pipes' )

I'll start a bit of a shit fight and say if ya want to LOOSE performance fit a set of V&H pipes. Notice how their price is comong down-----because they are so friggin loud  the cops are hammering them and people are realising that they spend good money to try and improve a few HP only to have it lost through the pipe.

    Now thats my opinion only.

Thats a bit rough Tapey, I sorted that fine out weeks ago!!!!

I'v got a set of 2-1 supertrapps inbound from the states at the moment (tuesday hopefully), nice deep sound but quite enough so as not to attract any un wanted attention. What is slightly different in QLD with noise is that you have the anti hoon laws. Get pulled over for noise 3 times and they can/will impound ya bike.

My point of HP losses is that why bother with hiflow air filters, ecu upgrades or cam changes if you loose the gains through the pipe. I agree, my bike hasn't cracked 200km either, proberly never will, but i like to see improvment in what I put on the bike not retard its performance.

I just bought my 3rd set of "Hookers" and wouldn't  run anything else. I don't think you can beat them for sound, looks or performance.

Rocket industries (Sydney) have them for around $700+gst.

2.5 inch, ceramic coated and step tuned with removable baffles and full heat shields.

I have personally seen the "Troublemakers" improve a 100 cube Revtech 16hp after re jetting.

Still looking at pipes but i havnt work out which ones if i do get some. Greg when are you going to come for a ride up here in the green country. Went for a ride with a few of the boys up to Lake Tinaroo on the weekend up through the Atherton Tablelands and the weather was magic, a bit cool 19 but good. Got hassled at the bottom of the Kuranda range by the boys in blue checking the width of the handle bars, but all good. Thanks for everyones advise, its just made the choise harder now....

I'll get there one day tapey, you know how it is with both of us on shift work.

I fitted up the supertrapp the other day, looks and sounds shit hot---very happy. Good service from MandM as well. I'll post up a pic when I get a chance.

Yer i will look at the Suppertrapp ones. Had a look on the net for them after Greg talked about them and there are so many types. I will have a look at Gregs when he puts up a photo of them and when he eventually gets up here for a ride i will hear them. How do they go one the "too much noise factor"? Thanks for the advise.

Here are the pics, a bit rushed as I,m still packing the Crusier for the Cape trip.

The pipe is a SuperMeg 2:1 the part number is 828-71572

The sound is nice and deep with enough noise to appreciate the harley sound.

Easy fit up. took about 1.5 hours including removal of the old system.

Very Happy. Get back from the cape and ride over to Darwin for a few days R&R.
