hi, has anyone got any ideas on better lighting for the sportster? better globes, replacement sealed beams etc? the shape of the light beam is crap!
Search for "HID sportster" on ebay US.
You want the kit not the bulb, cranks the lighting up somewhat and turns it white.
gday, ive tried a couple of different globes in mine now. Im lucky to manage an auto electrical branch in rocky so its easy for me to try some different globes. I only use phillips globes which are 60/55 watt. I had a blue vision which was fantastic but have since changed to a new globe (as a test from the supplier) which give the head light a orange ting. love it. I have Hid kits but i would not fit it to the harley as im not a fan of them.....you need high and low beam, the hid uses a solinoid on the back of the globe which is just another part to play up (and h4s do) to get the different beams. its only my opion, just remember the wiring is small, so dont go and put 100/90 watt globes into it with our putting a relay to take the load off the switch and wiring.
hi als 1200, hey if your supplier needs another h4 tested i can send my address!.... but seriously, what`s the brand of this current one you are trying? i hate bad lighting and want better light, i find that the actual beam is an odd shape when aimed at the garage wall, but that would be the globe position or reflector, i read in another forum that bosch make a 5 3/4 euro spec that takes h4 and is meant to be an improvement, has anyone tried these? thanks 308 (((-:
308bever, if its the shape of the light its all to do with the reflector....the only other thing you could try is to remove the reflector that is inside the light (covers a fair chunck of the h4 globe} but remove it so you can put it back. we have found on some cars this makes a huge difference to the light pattern even with HID. i will see what globes i have arround for you to try.
