V-Rod Muscle pipes and tuner I am confused

    Hi Guys

Looking at getting exhaust pipes for my 2010 V-rod Muscle

Was going to get the TAB pipes with the fuel manager and filter

However a lot of people say that the TAB fuel manager is not that good

The harley  dealer reccommends the screaming eagle tuner

My understanding is that this is basicly just soft ware

Can some explain why its so expensive (they quoted $703)

Are you able to use this software on a number of different bikes,,, if this is the case then what is stopping one from just finding some one else with the soft ware and using theirs

Old fart that has never owned a bike with EFI,,, the old shovel and BSA's with carbies i understand can knock tha baffles out re jet and re tune

I like the look of the TAB pipes just need to make a decission on what tuner/fuel manager to get

Can I just knock the baffles out  ( or open them up a bit ) of the standard pipes fit a tuner and get it to work it that way

Any thoughts and or advise would be most appreciated

    Slick

The SERT marries itself to your ICM so it will not work with any other one.

They are expensive because they are harley.

It is only a box that connects via cables and changes the ignition curve and injector settings in the original ICM.

The others are change out units that replace the original unit.

    Hope this helps.

I have just receievd a set of TAB slip ons for my VRSCF Muscle. I'm waiting for the TAB "fuel manager" and K&N air filter to arrive. I will fit it all sometime in the next couple of weeks and let you know how it goes. I have been talking to assorted VRSC owners at Frasers here in Perth and they all favour the SERT.

S/E tuner and some quality dyno time ............ you can't go wrong. Bang for your buck and unlimited tuning ability.
