    hey guys

Picked up my 2011 iron on monday and want to get started modding.

ive done the standard heavy breather, sert, se pipes and flipped mirrors. next is tank lift and im going to fabricate myself a bracket for the coil relocation.

my question is... does the tank lift and coil relocation void waranty>>? i cant see how it would but i thought id see what you guys thought.

    Cheers

    Jace

I have done the same mods and had my bike in for a warranty issue and they did not say a word apart from it looked really good.

I would say if the mods caused an issue it would not be covered

Hey mate if you read the warranty section on the Harley Davidson website it explains that a issue regarding warranty will only occur when a problem has been caused directly by an after market item ie; if you do a custom tune on the engine and your engine blows up you are not covered, if you change your bars over and you have a throttle problem you are not cover etc. the only exception to the rule is that most dealers offer there own warranty for example Frasers Newcastle offer full 2 year Harley Davidson warranty on all after market modification however they have to be fitted by them and within 3 months from purchase

    Hope this helps Big M

well i did the two inch tank lift and relocated the coil and ignition barrel, looks great..

i rode into the dealer to get some rocker spark leads and they were stoked with it, believe it or not the owner had never seen it done on an iron before.

as yo guys said, no issue with warranty.

     +1 for pics.

I have mine coming in late Jan and I'll definately get the coil moved.

Already have heaps of bits to bolt on (thankyou $Aus & ebay!), but the tank lift and coil relocation are top of the list.

Did you end up buying or making a bracket?

     Wow.. nice job..

It took me one week to put the solo side bag on... research, research, build up the courage, read some more... and finally install. Afraid to stuff up my new bike.

the coil was positioned in all the plastic if thats what you mean. its not a bad looking part, i dont know why they dont put it there anyway. i bought those screamin eagle spark leads and they make it look heaps better than the original, they are off a rocker c.

i took what felt like 1kg of plastic of that bike. to me harley says steel and iron, not plastic... this is the way its meant to be i feel. just have to lower that rear end a couple of inches now!
