Hi,
Just wondering how much diifference these make compared to S&S stock air filter setup on S&S E and strong 1340 evo.
Is it a large difference? or are they more put on for cosmetic purposes?
cheers
no worries and cheers for the reply.
never tried any different than stock as i enjoyed the stock look on some bits, mate of mine swears by his velocity stacks but my current set up still blows him off the road.. same size motors , same carbys, different pipes , different air cleaners....
buggared if i know , spose i just should unbolt his and give it a burl b4 anything...
s&s tear drops arnt force fed air cleaners
S&S teardrop , santee short/pipes, s&s e series....... fresh 1340
responsive, tuned right ... should i get better out of it with a different air intake ?
S&S Teardrop are about the best, there is no force feed unless you are useing a supercharger or turbo.
If you have a stock factory restrictive aircleaner, and you go to a Hypercharger, the gain is the K&N filter they use it breaths better than stock. the fact they look like a superchargers injector is just show, you can't force feed a motor that way.
the reason the S&S Teardrop work well is they have a small radius on there backing plate and a directional cone in there cover. but for me no air cleaner but a small radius lip works best just no good on street as no filter.
I just took my Hype Pro off my Street glide yes they look good & a good talking point with teh butter flys working, I have now changedto to a S&S single bore tuned induction system, I have found that is much better then the Pro-R Hyper & that is now just in a box in the garage. I have a atandard set up except for the stage 1 & S&S oval slip ons.Could be a bit of over kill on my bike but it has made a big difference.
Thanks for all replys.
might go raid a cupla local sheds and have a play around with some alternatives before actually going out and buying anything yet......
actually happy with how the scoot runs with current gear, just keep seeing all these other breathing setups and wondering "what if " ..
