SE Ventilator has arrived

My package arrived today from the states so I now have a SE Ventilator awaiting fitting. One thing I'm unsure of is does the aftermarket options for remapping the enging affect the warranty.

I was going towards a SESPT, however I'm considering the Fuelpak now.Just wasn't sure in HD would crack it if any warranty claim was ever made.

Hmm not much feedback on which way to go.

Maybe someone can confirm my understanding of the following

SEPST - marries to VIN/bike and cannot be changed

TTS - marries to VIN/bike and cannot be changed

Fuelpak(sp) - can be moved to another bike

Thundermax - can be moved to another bike

From reading the various threads it seems the TTS is the most popular choice. So if I go the TTS route with SE pipes and this aircleaner

which map to use a canned one or a custom one?

I find all the choices a bit confusing. so any advice and or suggestions are welcomed.

Just sent an email to M&M for a TTS.

Do I need the serial and usb cables or just the usb?

Thought the serial might be for the unit/bike interface.

Thanks Chromer, that was my initial thought, just wasn't sure if the serial cable was for the bike connection.

I've already adjusted my quote/order as a guess that I may not need the serial one.

You need two cables, the one that connects the dongle to the service port on the bike (I think that one is supplied with the unit),you also need the one that goes from the dongle to the laptop USB port,I think that's the one you have to purchase..WAZ!!

I've been reading the TTS manual to get an idea of what I need to do when my tuner arrives.

If I've got it correct then with the SE "Street Performance Staggered Shorty Dual Mufflers" and the SE "Ventilator Performance Air Cleaner Kit" the best tune to use is the AE176-002. The only thing is this has the A/C as the only mod. I did read in another topic that the AF176-002 can be used if you set it back to 96ci as it has both the A/C and exhaust mods.

The bike came with the SE exhaust fitted only need to install the aircleaner. As I understand it I should to the tune before doing the aircleaner then redo after the aircleaner change.

    So my noob questions are as follows;
    1. Which one would be the better option for me?
    2. Do I need to to disable active exhaust/intake using the QD176 first?

My TTS is awaiting delivery from FedeX in Brisbane, the weather has held it up. That's ok though it'll get here soon then the fun will begin.

I think I'll give the AE176-002-B1 map from Kuryakyn that Ozroder mentioned in the TTS Map Respository thread a go.

Just backed up the original map and saved it. Took a while to get the COM port to play along but it finally decided to talk to the ECM.

Next step is doing the A/C and run the new maps, probably tomorrow now. Got to wait for the young fella to call he has car problems.

All done for the moment, A/C has been fitted and the bike has been remapped. I went with the AE176-002-B1 map from Kuryakyn, next step get a few km's up and have a go at Vtuning.

Bike now idles higher and revs quicker also a bit louder now. I put that down to the disabling of the active exhaust.

Now that I've loaded the map do I need to adjust anything else?

The CLB was defaulted to 700 so I left it at that based on the advice to set the range of 680 to 720.
I haven't adjusted the AFR at all, never looked at it to be honest. Is this something I should have manually set to the 14.6 or do you only adjust when Vtuning?
Is the higher idle a result of disabling the active air and exhaust? I've read in the TTS manual you can adjust it, just a bit reluctant to play around too much.

In order to do the Vtuning you need to open the calibration in Mastertune and set the AFR table to 14.6 everywhere it will let you and install this in the bike. This let's the system operate over a larger area to aid in getting the adjustments done. Once you finish with Vtune you just return the AFR back to the original settings, note your bike may run a little warmer when doing the testing and gathering of information only.

I like to number my tunes and Vtune data, since I'm getting older I tend to screw things up when trying to remember what goes to what. An Example would be as follows:

    Starting VT cal.MT7
    Vtune data.DM3

Next set of changes to the files

    Starting VT cal-001.MT7
    Vtune data-001.DM3

This way when I go back and try to remember which ones go together it pretty simple. Once you get your Vtune's done you go back to the base file that you started with and just copy/paste the AFR table back into the final Starting VT cal-xxx and then save that file to a new name of your choosing. Then load the new named calibration into the bike and your done.

Gidday LV, I'm running the Kuryakyn AE176002 for the past 2 days on 07 Softail with Sonic slipons and K&N /SE airfilter. Done 200kms. I reckon it pulls great thru the gears to 5th, really wants to go, but in 6th doesn's seem as happy to keep on going. Seems  the "eagerness" of the other gears is not there. Still does it but just holding 140kph doesn't come naturally, just drifts off a bit.

Great down low, almost no decel pop, just now and then.  Also occasionally when pushing really hard coming into corners using engine braking.

I've also tried the AF176002, resized down to 96inch but found that it was not too happy cruising at 120plus. A bit the same as above, just not happy to hold the speed.

Have tried PZ176002  AC - Touring Exhaust. I raised the CLB tables by raising the last column to 720 which  increased all the others incrementally along with it. Going back to my notes, "pulls hard above 110-120, pulls 5th very well, cruises beautifully 140kph+. Hot idle nice and even.

I did not try AE176002  cause as you said, it doesn't mention exhaust mods.

I am amazed that there isn't a map for the basic SE air & SE slipons (or any other alternative common brands)

Will try Vtune using the Kuryakyn map.

Thanks for the info ddreed I might give the PZ176002 a go with the settings you used once I given this one a bit of a run. That'll give me something to compare against.
