Likewise Chris, Fuelmoto map... performance and throttle response was very obvious, ticking over nicely.

Has anyone updated their firmware on the PV so they can do the self tuning thing?
I tried it out a while ago and it did not go well. I logged about 30minutes of data, then the PV used the info it recorded to alter the map. When I reloaded the new map, it pinged like crazy... so I went back to the first (canned) map that that came with the PV.

I'm curious to see how others have fared?

Did you disable autotune after loading new map???

I have had the same problem still not getting it 100% right for some reason.

Only thing i am gogint to try next is do a run and when i load the tune don't do the reset learned trims see if that helps it. I disable the auto tune before loading my map carbon i do the log stop it export and save it then go and turn auto tune of and then load the map. Bloody confusing lol.

I installed PV with the broadband O2 sensors. I started with a map from Jamie at Fuel Moto and thought the bike was running very good.  I did about 5 autotune runs until the VE values were pretty stable. Only the values in the 0% column of the VE's kept dropping, Probably from exhaust reversion. I was having a lot of decel popping from 2500RPM down. I copied the 2% column into the 0 column and that fixed the popping. I didn't do any autotune runs to change the timing as there was no evidence that timing needed changing. I changed the AFR values to run open loop with 14.1 to 14.2 in the cruise range and richer in other parts of the map.

The bike is now unbelievably responsive with decent fuel consumption and runs cooler.  I am pretty dumb when it comes to EFI and tuning but with some help from Dennis on the US Harley site and autotune I am now wrapped with how my bike now runs. I am very happy with PV.

    Hey guys,

I bought my Power Vision from Fuel Moto as well. I rang them last Thursday morning our time (~7:00am) - middle of the day Wednesday their time. I spoke to Cindy who asked all the right questions. I received a confirmation email receipt straight after the call. I has asked them about the Micro tuner, PC-V, PV and Thundermax via email and all the answers pointed to the PV as I wanted an improvement straight away with the ability to learn to tune later on.

I paid $549 for the PV-2 (for 2012 Softails or bikes with CAN equipped ECU) with the Fuel Moto Pro billet air cleaner deal.

The shipping was $59 as I paid an extra $10 for Express shipping. Luckily there was a cyber week discount of $50 so it cost $558US all up (~$535 AUD).

It arrived yesterday at lunch time!

As everyone else has said - I told them about my mods and had the tune installed on the PV before delivery.  I've spent the night playing with software and comparing tunes. I modified the FuelMoto tune by upping the rev limit to 6,000rpm just as a test and downloading that to the PV into a new slot. I didn't have time to try applying the tunes last night as I would have woken up the house.

The first thing theWinPV software does, is download any updates and apply them to the program on the PC or firmware to the PV itself.

I will try today and let you know the results. I was hoping to get my oil temp gauge by now so I could post before and after temps with the tuner, full synthetic and eventually an oil cooler.

There are buinch of Dynojet tunes on the http://www.dynojet.com/PowerVision/PowerVisionMapsTunesDownloads.aspx we site for most models to try.

im finding it hard to find any maps that are suitable for older bikes but the pv is still really good. my custom map from fuel moto is spot on and i keep playing and am slowly learning about the custom tunes you can create on your pc.

    Hi Hilly,

SDMF is 100% correct in saying you don't need a computer to flash the bikes, make simple changes like rev limit or even "Pro" level edits to VE and spark advance tables (front & rear cylinders) but where the computer program WinPV comes into it's own is in comparing tune files.

You can load your stock tune and compare with stock improved from Dynojet, aircleaner upgrade only, slipons plus AC etc. and the program can show the delta of what people smarter than me have provided as a base tune. I can see what FuleMoto have done to my specific tune - no secrets. With WinPV you can alter just one cell by RPM vs throttle position in the VE tables for example.

Killerchef: The PV will load PCIII and PC-V maps that I'm sure would be around for the older bikes to use as a basis? But you're right, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to get started and can take tiny steps to improve the tunes you have as you get more confident and understand more.

When I get into AutoTune mode I reckon it would be harder to use the PV on it's own - but hey I like a big screen to work on.

I also know that someone who shells out over $500 for something wont tell you it's crap (at least not at first)! Fuel Moto also have some sweet T-shirts.

Ok, so I thought I would try an experiment and loaded the DynoJet "Improved Stock" tune for the 2012 Softial. I was very impressed as all my de-cel popping disapeared.

I then installed the billet aircleaner and flashed the tune that Fuel MOto did for me and it was much stronger down low and idled smoother but didnt seem to be a big improvement on the improved stock tune. I didn't know whether to reset the fuel trims but did anyway.

I will post the pctures of the air cleaner shortly. All up, 30 minutes to install the cool looking aircleaner and flash the bike.

Fuel moto did not have a base map at all to suit my 120 engine.
When that is the case a computer with WinPV software is required to set up a base map for builds not covered by DJ.
Hilly, basic tune mode with the PV is the same as VTune, on board screen and ability to upload learnd VE's on the fly so to speak without need of a laptop is where the PV is out in front, IMO.

Hey does anyone know if we can disable the Active exhaust control in PV?

So with the PV you get the basic unit for around $550 and if you want the auto tune thats an extra $420...Is that right???

Yes to the last two posts

If you bought the PV only it would be about $495 as I paid $550 with the billet air cleaner package.

So how do you disable the active exhaust control? I managed to unplug it while open and it made a huge difference but obvioulsy would be neater if left in as per stock (and cheaper not buying the eliminators).

Where do people set your EITMS on and off temps to?

If you set it to ON for 100 degrees centigrade and OFF to say 95 degrees, does this mean it is off until 100 degrees and is this too low?

The Power vision looks to be an easy, all in one user friendly system out there.

    Anyone NOT happy with it.

I bought my power vision from Fuel Moto. I told them the mods I had and they instaled the tune on the power vision for free. If i do any more mods like a cam from fuel moto they will do another tune for me. It was about 530 a year ago shipped to my door and there service is awsome.
