i am going to buy new pipes,tossing up between v&h straight shots or d&d fat cat exhaust.would like some feedback on wat u think is better
Just my opinion I hate the look of two in one pipes especially the fat cats they look crap in my opinion I run the V&H big shot staggers with the cross over tube - I'd rather lose a few pounds of torque than the look of a two into one

I ran the v&h straightshots for 5 1/2 years & they were fucken loud, replaced them with the fatcats as is. I can hear myself think now.
Performance wise fatcats are a massive improvement over straightshots

Awesome pipes, but crappy powdercoat. Had to have mine redone in 6 month. After HPC ceramic coat, they look like new!

I like the Big Radius pipes.... everytime I go for a ride and see them on other peoples bikes I can peel my mid-ride orange.
I prefer a gay style pipe like Supertrapp.... my friend buys me icecreams everytime we are out and about! LMFAO
I'm Aussie so like my Sonic duels, they look like cycle shack's. they were the pipe when vance & hines were only making jap performance pipes.
no one has ever showed me personally that the 2 ino 1 work better.
but up to you what you like the look of, i'm sick of looking at all those Vance & Hines pipes.
I didn't buy my V&H indy outlaw 2-1 because of the name. I bought them because they are tappered equal lenght headers with a megaphone that has a perferated sheet baffle wrapped in fiber glass wool and only weigh 7 pounds. They sound great and the 2-1 keeps the balanced pressure to the heads so the injection works properly. My next step is cams and head work that will make the pipe work even better. I've currently wrapped the headers to keep the low down torque before the head work. Still works well though. Plus I haven't seen any other bike with a set on...
Everyone has a different requirement, a lot of people fit 2 into 1 and feel the low end TQ increase & they might only ride in the lower rev range. so it feels like it goes better.
I had 2 into 1 Sonic ( Aussie made ) and i used Supertrap disc's to move HP & TQ around. with this system it is also possible to adjust sound leavel. so good if you want performance and your having problems with rego or the law.
But at the track was slower with 2 into 1 that with Sonic duels , so put it on Dyno and the 2 into 1 had more TQ down low, but at 3,500 rev the Duels the Torque just went away from the 2 into 1.
so the duels suit me better they were cheap too and best of all it's Aussie not that cheap ( aussie dollar stronger!!) US heavy metal.

Think of what you want to accomplish first. Top end......Noise but I think you Oz folks have a noise regulation. I went with the D&D 2 into 1 for the loud pipes!
I still think you can't beat the stock headers with the crossover (hidden on dyna's, I think it is on later softails too), with some good slip-ons. Easy to go back to stock in a hurry if you have to, and they just work. No offense to anyone, but not a fan of the big radius thing either - in my mind, pipes need to line up with the lines of the bike, preferably parallel to the ground. I hate it when I see slip-on mufflers that aren't lined up properly. Just my 2c. (I'd stick on a set of Thunderheaders or Bassani's though if they weren't so damn loud!!!)

My bike is not for looks, it's just for go. but i found the Sonic duels one peice no cross over just two indervidual one peice pipes with tapped turbo's. gave me the best performance, i do all my testing at the track. last meet the little 95 inch twinky Andrews 55 cams CV51 carb stock 01 cast heads stock flywheels welded up by Cow & Charlie stock 01 cases stock oil pump Crane Hi-4TC ignition. stock gear box foot shift street registered stock 16 inch cast rear wheel 150 16inch avon tyre 19 inch front s poke. ran 11.2 120.51MPH with a soft 1.8 60ft. you look at that MPH and it tells you what the HP is like the ET is just depends on the rider, but a fast trap speed tells you HP. one of Frazers late model Street Bob's EFI you would have to ask Frazers on details as i don't know but it had stock Duels with cross over & slip ons it had the fastest speed i think was 121 or 122mph. they told me that bike had 127HP 114TQ on there dyno.
