hello all

ive recently ordered a vivid black fatboy.(.coming 15/12) and am already ordering accessories for my bike from a supplier i met on the net i.e deluxe running lights, detachables, etc..

does anyone have any recommendations/experience  regarding brand etc.. of slip-on mufflers?  im thinking rush 1.75 (not sure if they are on sale here in australia but im sure i can import). I read somewhere that this type of muffler can make the bike run too lean but im not sure, all i know is that they sound ok

if you are  wondering,  yes i do want to do a stage 1 at some stage and then upgrade the pipes fully but feel that the slip-ons will do me for the moment

I've got a set of Rush 1.75 slip-ons on the '07 FLSTC headers I've got on my '07 Deluxe. IMHO they are as good if not better than the SE1s I had on my old 99FXD and better than the SE2s on my prev. 03 Road King.

You can get these 1.75 Rush slip-ons direct from Morgan & Wackers in Bris, just drop them an email for a quote - at the time worked out as cheap from M&W as getting them off Ebay or direct from Epiflex (I emailed Epiflex and asked them for their distributor in Oz -M&W).  Arrived in 2 days to NE Vic via TNT.  Good prompt service from M&W on this one. 

Very happy with these Rush mufflers, good sound, and not 'agricultural' (as some others are), good solid rumble.

S&S slip ons give the highest HP & T when tested what i've seen.
Might be a bit expensive.

i ended up ordering for the US for about $320 australian, delivered to my door...how good is that!!

OK What would be recommended S&S Slip Ons or Rush with 1.75 Baffles. I have an 07 Softail classict.  Both mufflers the same price apart from shipping.  I have heard the Rush Slip on via the web but not the S&S.  And the bike is still under warranty will changing the pipes affect this? Also getting a K&N Air filter set  would I need a new ECU or can the OEM be remapped for now.  I will seek advice on the newer ECU when I save the money. I know it is personal preference as far as sound goes. But still learning, I am not after a lot of noise as it draws the crabs from the neighbours.  I am not after a lot of power ect just wanting the bike to run a bit cooler and better than it is set up atm.
