Been looking through this site for a couple of weeks now and have decided its about time I signed up.

My name is groover and I'm a 44 year young fitter / machinist from the Hawkesbury area of Sydney. Been continuosly riding for the past 27 years and couldn't think of not owning a bike.

My current ride is a 91 FXR Superglide that I have owned since new. Has been an excellent bike for me but I've decided to move on and put a deposit down on a new Road King. Hopefully should have it in the next week or two but it will be a sad good bye to the FXR, like loosing one of the family really. We've become a good team over the years especially blasting over the Bells Line of Road to Lithgow.

Anyway, hope to meet up with you all sometime and have a yarn over a couple of ginger beers.

welcome from Perth groover... know that road well. Used to live in Richmond and the other half came from Lithgow.. also seen some nasty spills. Enjoy the RK when it arrives

Yeah, I'm sad about loosing the FXR but just "a tad" excited about picking up the RK on Saturday morning from Fasers and I'm not riding straight home.

what sort of road king groover ..standard ..classic ???

have a set of V&H Big shot dual pipes, brand new still in the box ... sound great ...going cheap, well compared to what frasers would charge you lol

08 Classic rkc, pick it up tomorrow.

For now I'm thinking about just running it stock until the first service, then I'll get stuck into it. Want to keep the dual configuration that the tourers have but dont know weather to just fit mufflers or go all the way and fit a complete exhaust.

It's still early days yet but thanks for the offer anyway, thats why I joined the site.

Yes, I have been blasting around on my new RK Classic and its bloody beautiful. Like floating on air doing the ton.

Not use to a quiete harley (well not for the last 17 years anyway), so silence is golden at the moment but will do the necessary adjustments some time. Just not sure what pipes to put on, nothing too loud for touring anyway.

But its amazing the increased power difference the restricted 96 cube has compared to the modified 80 cube, but thats progress I guess.
