Hey guys been back about 6 pages couldnt find any posts-hope you can help.  I have an 07kingy with gold valve emulators and 1kg constant rate front springs and icon rear shockies that i fitted, I thought it handled pretty well. two up in the weekend at around 125 kmh in a downhill sweeping right hander , all good till i hit some fucking big undulations hiding in the shadows. FUUUUUUUUCK im dead, all good got around but definately put the shits up me, I dont want that happening again--(missus reckons i could always slow down) Anyway has anyone experienced this and has anyone fitted a stabilizer e,.g progressive or tru trac ect--interested in feed back--cheers Grim.

    Hi Grim

I have a 07 street glide & yes I had the same issue & I went with the TXR Stabilizer from Alloy art. Much the same sort of thing as the true track there a quiet a few things on market to help with this problem with the rear steer. Also as HogBag said the tire can play a part aswell I'm running a Metzeller 150x80x16 ME880 I found this to be better then old D402's.

Pretty scarry stuff getting the wobbles at 120kph in a corner. Tried all the fixes and the only one that really worked on my 08 RKC was the Glide Pro. I tried shocks, laser alignment, head set bearing adjustment, new HD isolators and a progressive link for no real fix. All these just provided marginal improvement. I put in the glide pro piviot and bushes for some serious improvement. Added about 30 to 40 k's of speed into even bumpy corners without wobble. Its real tight and sure footed now without the progressive link. I thought the progressive link cause vibration in the frame.

Have to back Fr3d up on this one, followed him (well tried) through the windies on the northern end of the Putty Rd.

His 08 RK handled like there was superglue on his tyres. There was just no way I could anywhere near keep up with him on my 08 RK.

Some suspension companies push the 3rd leg option, but this only supports the motor / trans on horizontal movement. Not vertical or twisting movements.

There are some differences but should not be major on the swing arm. It took about half a day to fit including doing the wheel alignment. Getting the motor adjusted in the frame is critical, it controls the wheel alignment. Also the kit comes with a front mount that should be changed at the same time.
The Road Kings have a known front mount problem as well. I was on my second one.

I have the Glide Pro kit which includes the new shaft, bushs and front mount fited. I have taken off the progressive link which by the way may help even more but I think I get too much vibration into the frame from it and am trying the bike without it at the moment. As much as I like really pushing the RK, its a tourer and not a Duke, so I think its fine without the link. I carry it in my panniers though just in case I want to fit it and check out the difference. Watch the Glide Pro videos and look at how he aligns the bike. Yours has a mid top mount, mine has a front mount which makes it a bit easier to align the motor.

cheers guys and thanks for all the info--hey Fr3d I sussed out the videos and have emailed glide-pro and placed an order for the stabilizing system, the guy there Jake said its a stand alone system and that I wouldnt need a third leg stabilizer with there set up, he also said that they had a guy just set the bagger speed record running his parts--get this he reckons 182 m.p.h fuck thats tramping on a bagger--he didnt say what type or what it was running. Anyways will keep yas posted once it arrves and I fit it, once again thanks for everyones input---cheers Grim.

Good to hear your alright, I had the same issue with my 07 FLHX - I found a bagger brace, ordered it from the US fittedd it in 40 minutes and the bike rides better than ever. I call the the dsealer for true track over a year ago, I am still waiting for a call back.

    Cheers

If you hammer and do the k's two years before a bush and mount change sounds good to me. I see it like tyres, you wear them out. I would rather change them when they wear out and have a great ride than compromise my ride with something that half does the job which is my experience with the 3rd leg option. The bushes are made of neoprene or something and I accept they soften and need replacing. Its a fast fix to change the mounts on a RK.

Possably you might look at the front top  triple tree also.  The fork tube is not clamped but held in by a bolt.

The bolt pulls up the top nut inside of a sort of socket.  There is no clamp to hold things tight.  I know by replacing the top tree with a clamp type triple tree found on Dynas and such, this will deliver better handling characteristiics.
