I'm on ol' fella joining the exclusive HD club for the first time at the ripe old age of 45! Anyone know how to stop the ratle of the damn petrol cap (screw on type)?? Driving me nuts.

OK guys..........thanks for the welcome (and for the jokes). I think I've fixed the problem last night. I used some 3mm mdf and placed it over the face side of the chrome cap and then used a pair of multi-grips to crimp four areas on the underside of the cap to take out the slack. Let's see what happends next ride (when the weather clears up). I have now included a pic of my bike in my profile. Has anyone seen this bike before and know any history on it? It is painted in the HD 'pearl' orange.

have u tried making a gasket out of rubber or paper just a millimeter bigger than the thread size, then screw cap on?
