ordering a nightster

Went down to Frasier's today & rode one around for awhile, nice bike, bad seat, very slippery, handled well, scraped the peg warning doohickeys more than once & I think I'll end up having the forward controls added so I can stretch out.

Very keen to read other reports on the list but also to hear about what mods are worth or not worth doing.

    Thanks.

    Hi Toxic

The wife has got one, have a look in ladies lounge - putting faces to name , she has the orange and black

I have ridden it a few times ..I am 6'2" and around 115kg

initially found the suspension to be very hard but after having my fat arse on it a few times it softened up,

the seat was ok, wife found when it rained the water would pool in the crutch area

very nimble with lots of pickup, did scrape the hero pegs a few times ..clearnace seemed less than the road king actually ..when the 17 year old rode it for a brief ride he said it just didnt want to go slow :)

and compared to the road king, it felt like a toy

    Hey Toxic,

I love mine! Also orange and black. I'm a short ass and love my mids. I've changed pipes to V&H short shots, SE A/c, and added a PCIII. Dynoed she has 70hp and 76 torque with this set up. I also changed the suspension... not behaving nicely enough in the rough stuff for my liking, so currently I'm running 1200S shocks on the back and works fork springs up front. I trust her much more through the bumpy corners now. Plenty of horses and lots of fun; regularly scrape the kickstand still.  A bit more in terms of Brakes are my next priority; I've already gone to floating rotors and braided stainless lines, and am tossing up between dyna 4 piston or 6 piston brembo calipers; though might just try lyndall pads initially.

    Cheers

I'm not quite 100 Kg's & it did seem to ride hard, the seat thing was a PITA & would be my first priority to fix. Nice pic sportytrace, thats the same colour I rode today. Another thing I liked from my first real viewing was the rear tail light set up, different is good, being a sheep is for lazy people.

G'Day Toxic, my wife has the Matt Black & Silver Nightster, and I ride it as much as I can. I am 6'3" tall and don't find the suspenion too bad (i'm 100Kg's), just hang off it a bit more when you give the ricers a hurry up.

Great bike, I'm sure you'll be happy with her.

    Regards Bob

The seat is terrible....  It made my arse numb after about 15 mins when I first got my nightster, however the leather is now starting to wear in but it is still slippy if I'm wearing my waterproof trousers.

I have an all black nightster and it looks the bollox....  Looking forward to getting some V&H, Fuelpak and a decent spikey AC when I've had my first service.....
