Best shock upgrade for softail Deluxe?

I'm looking for a smoother ride on my Deluxe....

What is the best shock upgrade???  Keeping in mind that it is "already lowered" from the factory compared to the other softail models and I would like to keep it at the same ride height. I'm not after the "slammed" look you can get with air rides, its more about comfort for me.

I have read good reports about the Shotgun air ride on the US forums, but the set up seems complicated with all the air lines and switches etc... I want to keep it simple. Is Fournales still the best? YSS racing also do a softail shock system now too.

Thanks for any advice from fellow softail riders.

I have read on the US forum that an air ride system is the best shock for a softail..... but I'm not real keen on having to run air lines and a compressor etc... the more complex it is the more shit there is to go wrong.

Still hoping for more feedback from what you guys are running here on these harsh roads we have.

Berms, I just got fournales air shocks & compact pump from the U.K. for $900.00 AU delivered, don't need to pay $1650.00 AU.

Haven't done many Kms yet, they are firm but Fournales say do about 2000 Kms before you adjust them.

Anyone got any experience with the Progressive 422's or the Works performance softail shocks?? Both are very reasonably priced compared to the 4nails.
