what are they worth?
walka, would it void my warranty by fitting one?
cool, will do, she`s nearly due for her 1st service
might just have to pay Walka a visit when I hit Melbourne some time after the Edenhope weekend.
one thing the pro filter has that the K&P does'nt is the rubber to stop spillage when changing...
& the K&P is ribbed to aid cooling ... take your pick... there BOTH a good investment..
yeah..... here's an exert from another forum .. some interesting stuff ... may change opinion on some views.. ?????? "I'm well aware of the paper filters breaking down and releasing the very paper filter into the motor that is suppose to be protecting the motor. One of the riders that spoke praise of the K&P filter years ago, said that after 30k on his evo when he switched to the K&P and was finding paper media in his K&P for about 3 oil changes. I may have to do this on the next paper filter oil change I do on a buds bike just to show them and get some pictures for more proof. So out of all the other paper media filters the HD filters work the best but still lack seriously in their filtering. So the newest HD super prem filter being their best 5 micron filter is the one you are saying only filters to 39 microns?" ... here's the link to that debate .. http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/fluids/13506-evo-vs-tc-oil-filters.html
Most Top Bike Harleys use that type oil filter, as they need to check for metal in filter a lot to get idea on how motor holding up, on those motors 2 mile between rebuilt is good. maybe longer if lucky but they only use the best.
This is K&P Fitment Listing . P/N S4 is used on Twin Cam and EVO and is a Rated at 35 Microns. The Proflow is Rated at 30 Microns and again can be used with Twin Cams or EVO Engines
Hilly are you using any of these reusable filters at the moment mate.... I'm in process of ordering now, leaning toward K&P a bit, main reason for me is that filter looks easer to clean ... then some of the others.. and cooling fins .. even though there smaller... talking to Mick at Too Badd Customs in Columbus Ohio atm ... I Emailed there bussiness 'out of hours' and got a reply almost immediately .. the guy was offering free shipping .. in the US .. and has extended only the portion of cost that it would have cost to ship there.. $9 only ... better then nothing.. and he's been chasing a price on shipping ... was about $45 .. bit steep of course.. but he's got back to me on that too.. and pushing to save more on shipping cost by another $20 .. He's going out of his way to assist me... they've just moved into a new location.. and tend to trade in there local market anyway.. small trader.
I just got my Lyndall Brake pads too, it was an ebay buy...$51 shipping though .. on a set of three pads, it came in a box about 7 times bigger then need be, charged at the 3lb UPS rate .... they just didn't care... I'd committed to the buy, so there was no 'back peddling'. Now if I'd known that Too Badd custom had been agents for Lyndall as well, I'm sure Mick would have done his utmost to, package all my requirements in too one consignment ... Hey anyway.. just thought I fill you in a bit, in case you wanted to go in this direction... he spoke of group buy of course to get a further discount... and thought of you.. seeing your in my local area..
Cheers
The K&P also has a strong magnet that picks up & stops any metalic crap from circulating around ya motor...
I dont know if the ones walka sells has this feature? BUT I'm sure the paper ones dont..
