I have got a domestic workshop, leftovers of me dads old engineering business. I've got a 5in an 4in gear hobber, can do helixial work, some internal and dog clutch stuff. Also got a cnc mill with 100mm3 cutting space an lathe drill press etc. And its all just sitting there doing nothing, can someone give me some ideas on what I might be able to produce for a bit of beer money. Replicas of rare parts stuff like that. Much appreciated.
Im sure the mill could churn out some cool odds and ends..... just gotta pick a niche.
Preferrably one thats a little different looking or fuctioning, and not already available from 50 different chinese companies for half the price!
Could mill n drill plenty of cool connectors/ clamps ect?
I want some bike parts that look alot like gun parts!!
You don't think i've already thought about that, wouldn't be a problem cutting em out of mild steel. I just dunno if they are case hardened or what, might be a little difficult convincing the bloke who does the steel hardening that its a part off a new kind of fishing reel. All this I say in jest, that shit'll put you away for a long time. Just a second I can hear several pairs of heavy footsteps coming up my drive....
As said above, fork braces are expensive so if you could turn a few of them out you may be onto something...
Youse are all fucking ledgends, i've got heaps to sink my teeth into, but keep em coming. I'm in melbourne so if there is anyone that is in the area and wants just a one off (not 10fuckingthousand)part and i can turn/mill it, get in touch. can't promise anything but i'll have a look. Cheers.
