I have just been on the phone to three different HD dealerships and none of them agree on the rear axle nut torque for a 2009 softail. The first one i rang said 140NM which i thought sounded a bit too much so, i rang the second dealer who told me 60 to 65 ft lb or 81 NM which was right for my 06 softy but i wasn't sure it was right for an 09 so i rang the third dealer, and he told me 90 to 95 ft lb ???? Has anyone got a workshop manual that has the correct info ??

Ok just for anyone elses benefit, i have now got the correct info. The earlier model softy's were 60-65 ft lb but at some point "probably 07" they went with a heavier axle and larger 36 ml nut. The torque for these bikes is 95-105 ft lbs.
