Time has finally come to fit forwards to the Street Bob!!!! Tired of having my knees are my ears with mid controls. Been looking around for a while for 2" forwards that are not stainless or too bloody expensive.
So far the items I have considered at stock HD Forwards and Outlaws, but whilst both have their advantages neither are 2" extended and I'm not keen on fitting an aftermarket extension kit. The other I have recently found if from USMOTOMAN... the three kits are:
HD Stock
Outlaws
USMotoman
Obviously the HD kit is the easiest to install and comes in around $US400 with new pegs etc. The Outlaw is also $US400 and aesthetically looks the best but both are not 2" over. Outlaw only make 2" over for Softails and not Dyna. The USMotoman is $US500.
I have sat on a Dyna with standard forwards and feel that I would benefit with extended as it is just that little bit more comfortable. Already have cruising pegs and they are positioned at around the 2" extended.
Now fitting the custom forwards is not as straight forward as one would want as they include the master cylinder and do not come with any hose fittings or linkage for gears. Finally they all seem to take Dot 5 fluid so that means Dot 4 for front and Dot 5 for rear which means I have to purge the calliper and install new plumbing anyway.
Look forward to people’s comments!!!!!!!!!
thanks for the feedback guys.....
.................... I think all the forwards will scrape, especially since that is what happens with the mids I have anyway....
.................... fuck off Beeza. I'm moving back to Oz just to annoy the crap out of you and Dazza
..................... $284.40 from Zanotti's. The extra cost is becuase I'm filling new pegs if thats the way I go
have sat on Stix's and Kane's both Street Bob's with forwards... sitting on and riding are different. Have also sat on a Fat Bob which has a different seat and possibly sits further back like the Mustang Solo I have. I am 6'2.5"
Have also looked at the Battistinis but not keen on the holes... bitch to clean, but what I like is the fact that the pivot point is a lot higher. Not keen on paying $999 though
Think I'll go with the HD kit for the time being.....
