I ride with anything from my oxtar riding boots, my rm Williams, my sneakers.... Just not thongs!

I was looking at the HD boots and the johnny's and they look good too... It is up to your personal preference and what level of protection you want... If i am going on a spirited ride i will wear my riding boots, besides the extra protection they're also waterproof, If i am going around the corner i may just have my joggers on.

I wear my sand-shoes around town, I have a set of HD boots for the highway, I wear boots because I like to extend my legs and rest my ankles over the pegs, they get sore after a while and the boots support them.
I will cross town in my moccasins if I am slipping to the shop, but I cant wear scuffs (thongs) on the bike

I have a really old pair of Rossi`s dating back to the 80s which of course are relly worn in and comfortable but I`m not sure how much protection they would give because of there age.
If I`m just on short rides around town I wear globe skate board shoes as they seem to be able to take a beating and they have a good grippy sole for stopping at the lights.

I bought my last pair of Johnny Rebs seven years ago. Two soles and four heels later they are just getting worn in.

Johnny Rebs, had 'em for years & they feel like a pair of comfy old slippers.

Noit, any good shoe repairer can restore your heals. I used to do it for a living, piece of piss.

Jeez, makes me shudder to hear people are wearing joggers or sports shoes riding....if you go for a slide with yer foot under the bike, there won't be much skin left!!

I have three pairs, full length leather for winter/wet, ankle length Rossis are my fave, but also bought some RJays summer boots - lace up with mesh panels to let the air in. They are really solid; you wouldn't want to walk miles in them cause the soles are pretty inflexible but really god for hot days on the bike, the breeze gets right in.

Occasionally I also pull the Johnny Reb lookalikes on - when I want to pose as a tough Harley rider  !!

I wear the police tack boot type most of the time but thats just because i buy them for work so kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I have 2 types one water proof insulated pair for winter and a lighter pair for summer. As far as walking in them they feel just like runners and are comfy as hell. I also have a pair of the long HD type that are ok as well.

    Cheers
