I'm 5"10 and 85kg on a 883 low and love it, a lot of people don't realize how well they go because they don't ride them hard enough.
I'v done 24000Km in 18 month and still love it. On hilly or mountain winding roads I ofter hit rev limiter drag the side's of the bike around corner all that fun stuff.
My misses being a bit smaller around 5"4 & 60 the bike still has enough to make her hang on, but could do with a little more, Don't travel 2up very often.
I do highway/freeway riding every day to work and have forward controls for a more comfortable leg position. The 2up seat adds another 1.5" to the seat high.
After the bike has 40 or 50K on it, I will do a 1200 kit and cam upgrade.

Anyway if you have a thing for the yellow 883 Iron, go with it. You Can up grade shocks, seat, pipes, a/c and grunt as you feel the need. Make it your own!
I Also agree with walka, Haggle with the dealer, get the forward controls thrown in or at lets 50% off price and fitted, as I did.

Me too... I thought the paint, seat and positioning  just made it look smaller

G'day daimoh if you really want a Iron I say go for it buy the bike you want that way you are going to be happy but maybe I would advise you to go with the forwards for a bloke of your height the riding postion will be better and I would try and do what walka said try and get a set of forwards thrown in the deal if one Harley dealer won't come to the party ring around and try and get the best deal as for the colour you want stick with it in the end it's you thats paying for it.

P.S. Can anyone here post a photo of a yellow Iron I am on dailup and it's soooooo bloody slow to download any photos cheers.

    Yep, get a 48... Hahah

Nah ur right if ur planning to take it for long rides get the iron with the bigger tank.
I just do city rides and occasional highway ride with my mates and the iron tank is plenty for me. Great fun. OooOr u can get the forty eight and If u don't like it we can swap, my iron has only done 900kms and il pay the difference haha. I'm kidding...but seriously let me know if ur keen on a swap.

Nothing wrong with the iron at all...just if the iron and 48 came out the same time I would opt for the 48. Just personal preference. But I got the iron now...n m gonna keep it for a while.

I love the look of the 48, But I would have to fill the tank every day, If your going to do some road trips on it that gunna get old real quick. I have the standard sporty tank (12litres) I fill it when the light comes on around 160Km's, can go to 200Km's if I'm not giving it a hard time. Irons the go!

     I'm happy, I mean sad, I mean, happy, I mean...whatever...

... to announce the Daimoh is the now the proud new owner of what used to be my Iron. Thanks Daimoh for the excellent manner in which you carried out the transaction. Genuinely sad to watch you ride away on it...but you did look pretty cool.

Thanks Steamer for your testimonial, and thanks too to all the blokes who offered to buy my missus after I told you she was insisting that I not sell it. She is considering all offers.

Thanks Choco - I did have to buy it too... the photos were enough to get me to meet Taffy & check it out, but the real thing? Wow.

The wife was particularly unpleased with me as I took the scenic route home tonight and spent a bit over an hour to get back. Who can blame me though? Awesome ride - really enjoyed it. She understood though, when she saw I was still grinning like a mad man after pulling the helmet off!

So now I've got finally gotten a bike, looking forward to meeting some of you; all the help and advice you all offered was a big part of my Harley experience so far (yeah - my first Harley) and I couldn't have wished for a more positive experience. Heartfelt thanks guys. Particularly Taffy - I would've caught the train home if you hadn't helped me out!

    Hi Daimoh

I bought mine from Matt at Blacktown, good people out there and they will look after you.  I'm 5' 9" and it fits me like a glove, don't think it will be too small for you, seats prettty comfy, longest I've been on it was about 5+ hours but was fine. You can get stronger suspension on the back if the missus is on the back all the time, guess try it first before buying them.

Oh btw, I absolutely Love the bike, and it seems so does everyone that looks at it ; )
