I thought I had solved the engine light staying on problem after installing the Thundermax, but the little jigger is still comming on ? So far I have disconnected the battery and then tried firing it up again,then I did a diagnostic check using the trip meter/ignition and the error code PO131 appeared,so I canceled it, but the problem re-occured.The light comes on for a few seconds at startup then goes out and then comes on again after a km or so and then stays on ?? Does anyone know what the code means ?? Its running great and I'm having fun learning as I go,it seems strange not being covered in grease. Any help appreciated.
The cylinder head temp is not getting anywhere near 325deg, when you start the bike from cold the engine light will come on within 30 seconds,also had the computer hooked up and watching temp while the bike was running. No problems anywhere just some sort of gremlin ???
Went into configure and downloaded the latest firmware last night as the guy from Heavy Duty advised while guiding us on the phone.My son in law was helping and from memory he downloaded a january 08 update. We also cleared all the errors in the diagnostic codes,I can't hook up to it tonight as I have to use my son in laws lap top.
Problem solved it did need to have the 4.4 firmware loaded because the 4.6 firmware was fooling the system into believing it had 02 sensors as on later model bikes. I talked to three different techs and they all said the 4.6 firmware would be fine, but I thought what the heck just try it anyway, sometimes things go your way. The PO131 code was what made me suspicious because it is a code for a later model bike, it has since dissapeared. I still prefer carbys but this is getting interesting. THANKS ALL.
