    Can u help

I have problems installing a thundermax autotune  - all of the physical things went perfectly but my computers (3) will ot talk to the ecm.

    the message

smartlink found com port - but no module was detected

is sending me crazy - Have tried on serial connectors and usb (with connector) but same answer.

I do get the bike to respond with noises from underneath (somewhere) but no connectivity.

I see on the net that this is a common problem but does anyone have any ideas

    Thank in advance

    Thanks Robo61
I have downloaded the manual and will attempt tonight
Mines not a TBW system but I'm certainly going to give it all a go.
Eventually I expect that Thundermax will also respond but I'm hoping to having it running by then.

    thanks fellas

I have used computers using both xp and 7     - same story

yes the kill switch and ign are both on   - no diff

Did download the thundermax driver instructions - but these only apply to the drive by wire applications - and the folder they refer to in the software for USB connection is not in the software for the normal thundermax program.

So unless someone else has a trick to try it looks like I will have to wait on Zippers to finally give me an email.

It may well be either a dud cable or dud ecm - they are supposed to be fully tested - so that probably a long shot.

    Thanks folks

Yes I have initialled the module but that does'nt help seeing that there has been no connection to the module in the first place to download any maps.

I have just received a notice from t/max (finally) basically stating that as its an international model harley I will need to remove pin plug no 20 from my ECM connection. Will try tonight but sounds a bit sus

    Wish me luck

    You beauty

Here's the finality of it all
    Email from Tmax
international bikes sometimes have active exhaust (??????) therefore you have to get into the ecm connector and remove comletely pin no 20
Then and only then will your computer talk to the ECM
Well, well, well bout fricken time they told someone
I have spent 5 days (hours and hours) on the bloody connection - only to find that the dh's dont bother to give Aussies the full info
    C's

I now have connection, downloaded my map, set the idle etc etc etc etc - can;t ride it because its late and pissing down rain.

    Looking forward to tommorrow.

Thanks for all your help just goes to show all the help in the world wont help without proper flamin instructions in the first place from them that know !!!!!

Love the forum - hope I can help someone sometime
