I am noticing alot of imported Harleys on the market at second hand dealerships at the moment. Is there a reason for this? And also how can the milage be trusted?

well i was at a dealer today and he had around 30 used harleys there and everyone of them was an import.. it was like they werent telling the full story cus they never mentioned it. that in itself made me not want to stick around..

Thats the place my bike came from, they stuffed me about with delivery and never once told me it was an import, 8wks delivery, damn thing hadnt even been loaded on the boat when they sold it to me.....personally i couldnt give a crap....but i would have liked the truth.

evidence of bike being an import, it wears an LO1 compliance plate issued the day after purchase and it has a mph speedo.......

Overall i was happy with the price, am happy with the bike and its condition,  (although i still had to fix previous owners stupid fixes- this would have been the same regardless of country of origin/, it was very shiney ) - i would of liked the truth.....it wouldnt of changed anything,

i knew it when we got there and half the bikes that were online werent there... then i checked the vin and yeah they were all starting with 1 so i knew.. its true if its still good then its still good but it just felt like if they opperate that way (lies by omission of facts) then i dont wanna do business with them.

there are some good deals to be had by importing a bike with the way the dollar is now. A lot of bike businesses that arent authorized harley dealers and cant sell brand new harleys are siezing the opportunity to import and make some bucks. I checked into it my self through a company called geezers on the gold coast and if you have the dollars its worth while buying one, the only stipulation was the bike has to be registered in America, and able to be complied in Australia, if you pick the model carefully like some of the anniversary or cvo models on the later bikes you could save upto or around 5 grand if you can sell it. It roughly worked out to about $4,500 to land ,comply, and register here, so you can check prices of bikes overseas and see if it is worth it. the only thing you cant do is really check the bike out--you could also check out the dealers and the prices of there demo models---any way dreams are free and ive got no fucken money--cheers Grim.

a prominent Harley dealer told me personaly that all Harley dealers in Australia WILL NOT warranty any late model IMPORT and will more than likely not fit any parts ( but happy to sell them to you ) to them through their workshops. Needless to say that Harley dealers in Australia are not very happy with the changing of the import laws.

Who gives a shit where it comes from, be thankful you have a harley to ride.........

They are all imported anyway.........they all come from the states

Better than riding a postie around and pretending its a harley lol
