    hi everyone.

im scozzy from newcastle nsw and ive just picked up my first harley.

    2008 fxdc super glide custom,candy red sunglo,done 340 km.

started riding it yesterday at 2.30pm when i left the dealers and didnt get off it for nearly 3 hours!

brilliant bike ,lovin it already. probably should have done more research to find the right one for me,very nearly bought the street bob, but i felt the super glide was a better value bike and i was getting more bike for my dollars.

also, i wasnt that keen on the mini ape bars on the street bob. i would have changed them anyway.

never owning a harley before obviously means i know very little about them so ive got heaps to learn.i was told to run the bike in to about 1600km. is that correct? any advice and help would be kindly appreciated.

looking forward to future discussions with all you good people.

btw, im a truckie, you know the score big wheels big hours. so im not gonna be here all the time, but will try to be on as much as possible.

k bye for now,   stay safe people.   cheers,  scozzy

    Thanks DLUX.
As i mentioned in the thread, im lovin it to bits and just getting used to handling it.
My one gripe is the exhausts though, too bloody quiet!
my mates got a road king classic with screamin eagle slip ons, sounds really good.
im not sure what to do with mine.

ive heard vance and hines are popular?
is it better with the full system, or do the slip ons sound good?
    any help would be great.
    cheers scozzy.

Welcome from another truckie/transport operator. Better take some pictures of your bike with the truck in the back ground. A mate when he bought his softail it was so quiet it sounded like a sewing machine in the garage but he changes his pipes 1st thing and now it sounds a lot better. Good luck.
