I'm looking to change my 2005 Super Glide front end (forks, trees and wheel) to a Wide Glide front end.

    1. Does anyone have 2nd hand parts and are looking to sell?

    2. Also looking for all tips and hurdles fron anyone that has done the same work. And where you got your parts?

for what its worth , i'd just buy aftermarket as i have done earlier this year - whole new fron end - chromed for $1000 - billet smoothed trees , 3 degree rake - 2inch overs - concealed axle and new headlight. i bought the trees and forklegs from ULTIMA - headlight from ind parts on evilbay. check out the pics in "show us ya bike" thread.

#1 tip - on install - trial fit legs through trees - they dont just fit ! - you gotta make em - i had to buff out the chrome plating to get em to go all the way into the blind top triple - well worth the effort

yeah i lost a little in the turn but nothing i cant handle - i also was recommended by a local guy thats done this heaps not to install the steering stop kit that came with the trees as they use small roll pins and if u let the front end go it will hit on these and snap em off - instead i drilled and tapped the top of the bottom tree to accept 6mm stainless socket head cap screws - works a treat.

And dont forget that superglides and the like dont have as much rake in the frame as wideglides - thats why i only went 3 degrees in the trees as wideglide already has i think 32 degrees - which makes a total of 35 degrees - ive had no dramas with my front end at any speeds even inexcess of 140km - smooth as as far as i can tell. its a lot smoother at that speed than my hilux .....haha
