I had that problem on my stock FLHX before I sold it and got the softail.... always made checking the oil an interesting task. "HOt potato, hot potato" as the wiggles say.

could'nt say why, but just thought i'd say, it would be hard on your battery. as heat kills batterys, i'm not up to date on the new softails but my twin cam dyna 95" if i was going to put a big inch in i'd look at increasing the oil capacity as i think they need to run more oil keep oil temp down to stop oil breakdown.
